Publications

The North Carolina Archaeological Society publishes North Carolina Archaeology, an annual journal containing scholarly articles about prehistoric and historic archaeological research and other topics related to North Carolina's past, and the North Carolina Archaeological Society Newsletter, a quarterly bulletin that keeps Society members informed about topics of current interest and upcoming events. Subscription to both is by membership in the North Carolina Archaeological Society.

Back issues of North Carolina Archaeology and Southern Indian Studies (if available) may be purchased for a nominal fee (see order form). All proceeds from the sale of back issues benefit the Endowment for North Carolina Archaeology, which supports our grant-in-aid program.

Past issues of the Newsletter and issues of North Carolina Archaeology (formerly Southern Indian Studies) published more than two years ago also are available in electronic form online through the North Carolina Archaeological Society Publications Archive. This archive is maintained by the Research Laboratories of Archaeology and also contains publications of the North Carolina Archaeological Society's precursors--The Archaeological Society of North Carolina and Friends of North Carolina Archaeology.
