The Crown Collection of Photographs of American Maps

The Crown Collection is an oft-cited but difficult-to-find compilation of historical maps of the United States. Series I-III contain colonial-period maps in British archives, and Series IV-V contain Archer Hulbert's tracings of nineteenth-century trails in the American West. The digital facsimiles presented here were scanned from the originals in the libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Missing maps are indicated by blank pages. (Currently the following ten maps are missing: ser. I, vol. 1, maps 12, 14, 16, 17, 24, 25; ser. I, vol. 2, maps 28, 29; ser. III, maps 7, 8.)
