- Grade 4, Goal 1: Anthropology, psychology, sociology -- the learner will analyze the characteristics of the people of North Carolina.
- Objective 1: Identify, locate, and describe ways of living of the major Native American groups in North Carolina, past and present.
Visual Arts Education (1996 version, implemented but not tested.)
- Grades 3-5, Goal 1: As a result of visual arts study, the student will develop critical and creative thinking skills and perceptual awareness necessary for understanding and producing art.
- Objective 1: Plan and organize for creating art.
- Objective 6: Use all senses to gain information.
- Grades 3-5, Goal 2: As a result of visual arts study, the student will develop skills necessary for understanding and applying media, techniques, and processes.
- Objective 1: Explore unique properties and potential of materials.
