Facilities UNC's archaeology faculty generally have offices in their home departments, which are located in the following buildings:
Laboratory and computer facilities are principally located in the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, which occupy space in five buildings on campus. The main office is located on the first floor of Alumni Building (room 108). Alumni Building also houses the artifact processing laboratory (i.e., wet lab), paleoethnobotany laboratory, digital imaging laboratory, geographic information systems (GIS) laboratory, computer laboratory, general purpose laboratories, library, darkroom, archives, special collections, and graduate student offices. Additional graduate student offices, resident research associate offices, general purpose laboratories, and the zooarchaeological laboratory are located on the third floor of Battle Hall. The osteology laboratory is located at 134 East Franklin St., and the zooarchaeology processing laboratory is located in the Old Observatory Building at Mason Farm. Artifact collections are housed in the new stacks of Wilson Library.
