Teacher Workshops

The RLA offers three types of teacher workshops that bring archaeology to life and ensure optimal use of the Intrigue of the Past lesson plans and History from Things kits. Participants learn about the science of archaeology and North Carolina's ancient past through:

• the expertise of professional archaeologists and teacher facilitators;
• lessons and inquiry-based activities from Intrigue of the Past and History from Things kits that are designed to teach basic concepts and principles;
• discussions and activities regarding the ethics of archaeological site protection; and
• consideration of American Indian perspectives on archaeological preservation.
