RLA Advisory Board Guidelines


1. Membership:

The membership of the Advisory Board of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology shall consist of six appointed members (with a diversity of expertise spanning at least two Divisions of the College of Arts and Sciences), and three ex-officio members (the chair of the Department of Anthropology, the chair of the Department of Classics, and the director of the American Indian Center).

2. Terms:

The appointed members shall serve for terms of three years, beginning July 1st of each year, and shall be appointed by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in consultation with the Director of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology. Appointed members shall serve staggered terms. Terms for the ex-officio members will be for the duration of the tenures in their respective offices.

3. Chair:

The Director of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology shall serve as Chair of the Advisory Board.

4. Meetings:

The Board shall meet at least once annually and upon the request of the Director as needed at other times.

5. Responsibilities:

To advise the Director and the Dean on matters pertaining to the activities, goals, and long range plans of the Research Laboratories of Archaeology.
